Mrs. Amy Lawler's Class

Enthusiastic is one word to describe Mrs. Lawler's third grade students.  Every student loves to learn.  Multiplication, vocabulary and reading comprehension are just a few of our favorite skills.

Each day Mrs. Lawler introduces a new word.  The class discusses its meaning and how to use it in a sentence.  We all try to use that word as much as possible during the day. This activity has been a great way to lean new words.  Actually, these become our favorite words and we use them all the time.  Some of our new vocabulary words are clamor, industrious and yearn.

Our reader has incredible stories.  They are well illustrated and fun to read.  After we read and discuss the stories, we take an Accelerated Reader (AR) test and find out how well we listened.  It's a great way to observe our abilities.

Multiplication is another necessary and yet exciting skill.  The students are working to memorize the facts.  We're testing on each fact through 9 and earning a Banana Split Party as we go.  Our Banana Split Party will be March 19th.  But don't worry, we won't stop working on multiplication after the celebration!

As you can see, Mrs. Lawler's third grade class is an excellent place to be if you want to combine learning and excitement.  Come and visit us!
