BLANCHARD ELEMENTARY

Mrs. Lisa Boykin's PreKindergarten Class

Mrs.  Boykin teaches our PreKindergarten class (previously known  as ECE).  She is assisted by Mrs. Owens.

The Pre-Kindergarten program at Blanchard Elementary is a developmentally appropriate program designed to improve the kindergarten readiness skills of children eligible to enter kindergarten the next year.  Our program addresses both age appropriate and individual needs of young children.  It focuses on all aspects of development: physical development, social/emotional development, cognitive development and language development.

The curriculum is integrated so that learning occurs primarily through projects, learning centers and playful activities.  Two major emphases of the program are:  stimulating language and literacy experiences that require active involvement and providing hands-on activities.

Our PreK class is funded by an 8(g) grant and serves 4 year-old students.  Students attend school all day.

Daily activities include circle time, small group instruction, learning centers, story time, outside play, music and movement, enrichment, snack and naptime.
