Mrs. Laurie Schiller's Class

Mrs. Schiller's 5th grade classroom is full of activities and resources that motivate and encourage students to want to learn.  Students are able to earn free time in which they can review, explore, and expand on skills in all subject areas.  Among the students' favorites are the Reading Loft, the Computers, and the Writing, Listening, Math, Science, Social Studies, Language, and Art Centers.  The students find these centers not only educational, but also a lot of fun!

Students in Mrs. Schiller's class also get the opportunity to be "Student of the Week."  They receive special recognition, an award, special prizes, and they are classroom helper for the week.  In addition to this honor, all students can earn weekly coupons that allow them to sit with a friend, have a homework-free night, or have extra classroom free time.  The students work very hard to earn these special privileges.

A favorite of the students in Mrs. Schiller's class is Reading Groups.  Students rotate among the Teacher's Group, Written Seat Work, and Centers.  The students love to work in the small groups, and they enjoy reading and playing games in Mrs. Schiller's small group to review for their weekly Reading tests.

The students in Mrs. Schiller's 5th grade class work extremely hard and are eager to learn and grow as they enjoy their last year at Blanchard Elementary.
